Eating nutrient dense foods is literally getting maximum out of the calories you consume that is nutrients per calorie – just the opposite of empty calories – that is minimum nutrients per calorie. The more nutrient dense, the more the health promoting a food is. These foods are those closest to their natural state. Examples are fruits, vegetables, particularly organic, nuts and seeds, whole grains and cold pressed oils.

Balancing the food you eat with physical activities to maintain or achieve healthy weight is a winning strategy for life. There is no need to give up the food you love. Some food can be eaten at any time - fresh fruits vegetables and whole grains. . Others like sweets and high fat items can be limited to special occasions.

Most of us can eat most food as long as we pay attention to balance, moderation and variety. There are also individual needs based on activity stress, and toxins and food intolerance's to be considered. You may be lactose intolerant, gluten sensitive or have other foods sensitivities. You may be requiring a high antioxidant cover living in a polluted city.
